A Year of Healing
So much has changed since my last blog post in November last year…
I was gearing up for the busy Christmas season, markets were lined up, I had a long list of orders building, I was buying a house with my partner Lyndon and had lots of adventures planned for the Summer.
Life was good!
On November 15th my life tipped upside down when Lyndon was in car accident on his way to work. Two days later he passed away.
I have been meaning to write some form of blog post in the last year but have never found the words. Still now, I don’t feel like I have the words and it doesn’t feel real.
Lyndon was my biggest support with pursuing my passion of making jewellery. He encouraged me to take risks, trust in my ability and persist. We would walk, hike, snorkel and scuba dive searching for inspiration and he always found me the best sea urchins to work with. He got up with me in the early hours of the morning for markets and stand out in the cold, selling my jewellery much better than I ever could.
For a long time I lost all inspiration and drive… I came back to the studio not for the money but to help me heal. Working with my hands and getting back to being creative has helped so much. At a time where I feel like I have lost my whole world, I am grateful to have a job that I absolutely love and that I can share that with others.
Thank you to the customers who have been patient waiting for orders especially late last year, to the customers who sent me love and came in to chat and to the ones who didn’t know but who continue to support my small business and enable me to do what I love. Thank you!
I will be doing my first market back and only one for the season at this stage The Arty Market on December 1st 4-8pm at Woodleigh School, 485 Golf Links road Langwarrin South.
Don’t hesitate to contact me email@example.com with any inquiries.
Please place all Christmas orders by December 6th.
Lots of love xxx
